Curtis Wayne Parker, 68, of Hurley, passed away peacefully at 6:30 PM, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, MS.  He was born November 9, 1948 in Nettleton, MS to James and Beatrice Parker.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Brenda, and his sons Curt (Sara) and Jon (Lauren).  Wayne will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Blake, Gracie, Blaire, Jon Harris, and Benjamin, by his mother, Beatrice, his sister Carol (Shannon) Turner, his father-in-law Johnnie P. Wilkinson, and brother-in-law Kenneth Wilkinson (Jane), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne graduated from Delta State University with an undergraduate and Masters degree in Physical Education.  He was a longtime educator in the Pascagoula School District serving for over 30 years as P.E. teacher, Assistant Principal, and Athletic Director.  Over the course of his career in education he had a positive impact on the lives of thousands of children and will be lovingly missed and remembered by his fellow students, former colleagues, and close friends. During his retirement he could be found gardening, attending Ridglea Heights Baptist Church, and drinking coffee with close friends.  His greatest joy in life was his five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4th from 9:00-11:00am at Ridglea Heights Baptist Church in Moss Point, MS.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00am.  Graveside services will be held at 4:00pm at Antioch Baptist Church in Brandon, MS.

Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, in Escatawpa/Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements.
