Donald Vaughan Coleman, 89 years old, of Moss Point, MS passed away on October 11, 2016.  He was born January 28, 1927 in Kreole, MS.

Mr. Coleman attended the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Accounting and Business administration.  He worked in the Finance Dept. at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula as Paymaster and Auditor for 20 years, and as City Clerk of Moss Point for 20 years.  He spent 3 years in World War II in the Army where he served in Germany.

He has been a life-long member of Kreole United Methodist church in Kreole, MS where he served on the Administrative Board, Trustees, PPR Committee and in church choir. He also served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board and was a Rotary Club member.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward “Eddie” Vaughan and Delia Candacy Cumbest Coleman.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jeanenne Graves Coleman; one son, Daryl (the late Sharon Ryan) Coleman of Lakeland, Fl; two daughters, Sheila (Michael) Pait and Karen Coleman; sister Bernice (the late Oren) Carpenter; grandchildren Jerica Lockhart (David) Hudson, Jameson (Jennifer Hall) Lockhart, Heather (Kenneth) Bentley, Ryan Coleman and Chelsea (Dave) Morris; and great – grandchildren Nevaeh Candacy Bounds, Bailey Lockhart, Coleman Lockhart, Marlee Hudson, Natalie & Michael Hudson and David Morris many nephews, nieces and extended family.

Visitation will be October 15th from 1-3 pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point.  Funeral service will immediately follow at 3pm with The Reverend David Cumbest and Cindy “Catfish” Hamm officiating.  Graveside service immediately following at Serene Memorial Gardens.
