Doran E. Pack went to be with Jesus surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.

He was born on November 9, 1930 in Warren, Ohio to Henry and Velma (Whitt) Pack. Doran’s family moved to Monroe, Michigan in 1931. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1949 and joined the Air Force in 1950. While stationed at Kessler Air Force Base, he met the mother of his children. Doran was a Korean War Veteran who received UN Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

He made his home in Escatawpa and worked at International Paper Company until 1955, and then he began his career with IBM as a customer service engineer until he retired in 1995. Doran was the owner of Pack’s Marina in Pascagoula, where he enjoyed sharing stories with the stall renters. He also loved to be outdoors as well as travel.  He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served in many capacities.  He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and La Societe des Quarante  Hommes at Huit  Chevaux,  more commonly known as the Forty & Eight.

Doran was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Velma (Whitt) Pack; sister, Josie Jean Pack; grandchildren, Cheri Davis, William D. Pack and Brian Pack; stepson, Ronnie Baxley and great-granddaughter, Megan Baxley.

He leaves cherished memories with his wife, Joyce (Baxley) Pack; children, Henry (Diana) Pack, Linda Pack and Rosa Edmonds; sisters, Reah Kohler and Brenda Kiser; stepchildren, David (Dee) Baxley, Keith (Sharen) Baxley, Steve (Janice) Baxley, Randy Baxley, Patricia Baxley and stepdaughter-in- law, Sherry Baxley; along with grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews,  other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to Deaconess Home Health and Hospice. You will forever be in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Christ Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund, Habitat for Humanity, or to a charity of your choice. A donation box will be available at Heritage Funeral Home.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS beginning promptly at 10:00 a.m. with Lance Eubanks, Carlton Kiser, Donald Dunagan, Joel Gomien, Eric Baxley, and Eugene Baxley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Eubanks, Josh Baxley and Aaron Poche’.

Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, is in charge of arrangements.
