Doris “D’vonne” Y’vonne Olsen passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Pascagoula, D’vonne was the daughter of the late Hiram Dees Cudabac and Frances Esther Jane’ Cudabac.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Olsen was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Ludwig Olsen and Barney Mathis, her granddaughter, Nicole Olsen, and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include her daughter, Dee Williamson (Donald); her sons, Rick Olsen (Melanie), Bobby Olsen (Anirah), Kurt Olsen (Debbie) and Darrah Olsen; her grandchildren, Shawn Williamson, Kristen Baggett, Dawn Hubbert, Ryan Olsen, Malorie Olsen, Eric Olsen, Jared Olsen, Erik Alexander, Jessica Roche, Michelle Olsen and Charlie Olsen; sister, Frances Ehrlich; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; special in-laws, Donald and Catherine Olsen, Mary Wilson and Diane and Al Higginbotham; along with numerous nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

Mrs. Olsen was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula. She graduated from Pascagoula High School and Perkingston Jr. College, where she was head majorette and voted Most Beautiful. When her children grew older she worked for the Pascagoula School System as an interpreter for the deaf. Through the years, she enjoyed boating, attending family baseball games, her pets, gardening and Q.V.C.

Mrs. Olsen’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to those who helped care for their mother: Dr. Degroote, Dr. Miles, Plaza Nursing Home and Rehab and the staff of We Care Hospice. A special thanks to Ramona, Mary and Mark of Deaconess Hospice.

The funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and the funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Shawn Williamson, Ryan Olsen, Jared Olsen, Johnny Olsen, Brad Cox, and Clayton Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Olsen and Jim Barlow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church.
