Dorothy Lee Ridgdell, 82 of Vancleave, MS, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 in Vancleave. Dorothy was born on September 25, 1933 in Louisiana to the late Leo and Aline Morse. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and cultivating a deep knowledge of Biblical understanding. The seeds of unwavering faith and devotion to Jesus she planted will continue to influence her family and all those who knew her for generations.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Harry O. Ridgdell Jr. and siblings, Arlene Bennett, Lucius Morse, Leo Morse Jr., and Donnis Lemoine.

She is survived by her children, William Andrew Ridgdell of Seymour, IN, Carl Wayne (Mary Lou) Ridgdell of Vancleave, MS, Suzanne Nina (Ricky) Chaney of Prairieville, LA, Trudy Roxane (Jay) Rogers of Senoia, GA, Jack Keith (Cindy) Ridgdell of Vancleave, MS, Harry O. (Jeanna) Ridgdell III of Vancleave, MS, and Becky Jo (Johnnie) Sadler of Vancleave, MS; 26 grandchildren; 64 ½ great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; special caretaker, Timothy Lucas Cochran; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The visitation for Dorothy will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Magnolia Baptist Church in Vancleave beginning at 11:00 a.m. with her grandson, Rev. Chase Elkins officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, MS.  Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
