Edna (Duck) Knowles, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 3, 2017.   She was born on February 13, 1936 in Pineville, MS.  She was a faithful member of Escatawpa Baptist Church and loved and appreciated her Pastor and church family.  She enjoyed going to Gospel singings, attending church, and being a Mother to her children and Grandmother to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Anyone who met her instantly felt welcomed and loved.

She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother (Alpheus Duck and Mary Duck), Granddaughter Brandy Reese, Grandson Joey Rockhold, Daughter Cheryl Jeanne Ellington, Brothers Theodore Duck and Edward Duck, and Sister Jewel Shell.

She is survived by her Brother Carl (Bonnie) Duck and her Sons Johnny (Ida) McPeek, Robert (Pam) McPeek, Duane (Missy) McPeek, and her daughter Mary (Joel) Rockhold.  She is also survived by her grandchildren April (Chris) Earith, Michael (Liz) McPeek, John (Lori) McPeek, Amanda Thompson, Amy (John) Goodwin, Allison (Brice Fulton) McPeek, Jeffrey Rockhold, Chris Rockhold, Kim (Harry) Gunter, and David Searcy; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

The children would like to extend a special thank you to Escatawpa Baptist Church and the close neighbors and friends that always visited, fed, and cared for their Mother.  Johnny, Bobby, and Duane would also like to thank their sister, Mary, for the fulltime devotion of caring for our Mother for the last several months.

The visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home 9721 Hwy 63 in Moss Point, with the family gathering at 5:00. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, beginng at 10:00 a.m. with graveside service immediately following at Memorial Gardens in Mobile, AL.  Pastor Todd Bowen will officiate both services. Pallbearers will be John McPeek, Michael McPeek, Chris Rockhold, Jeffrey Rockhold, Chris Earith, Chris Caldwell, and Jason Rawls.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Escatawpa Baptist Church’s Nehemiah Team.
