Edward Matthew Eldridge, 84, of Moss Point, MS, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi, MS. He was born on February 17, 1932 in Kemper County, MS to the late Thomas M. and Zelma M. Eldridge. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served in Korea and he was also a Master Mason with Masonic Lodge #202 in Moss Point. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Elizabeth Eldridge.

He is survived by his children, Eddie Eldridge of Moss Point, MS, Tommy (Linda) Eldridge of Hurley, MS, Scott (Robin) Eldridge of Harleston, MS, Teresa Eldridge of Helena, MS, Melesa (Mike) Mazingo of Moss Point, MS; sister, Ouida Claire Barnes of Natchez, MS; brother, Keith Gordon (June) Eldridge of Philadelphia, MS, 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Methodist Church on Jackson Rd. in DeKalb, MS. The funeral will follow at the church beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Cris Gulley officiating. Interment will be held in the church cemetery with Joshua Eldridge, Jacob Eldridge, Jonathan Mazingo, Stan Harkleroad, Daniel Eldridge, and Adam Eldridge serving as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank New Hope Methodist Church and Pastor Mike Hunter for their hospitality in hosting the services for Mr. Eldridge.
