Eleanor Ann Trehern Rowell “Granny”, 72 of Pascagoula, MS, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in Pascagoula. Eleanor was born on March 28, 1944 in Pascagoula to the late Leo and Florence Trehern. She was a graduate of OLV High School and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked for many years at Merchants and Marine Bank Belair Branch, and was known by many as the “Face of Belair”, even after she was moved to other branches. Eleanor will be remembered for the love she had for her children and grandchildren, but she will mostly be remembered for the passion she had in cheering on the Resurrection Eagles football team.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her brother, Leo Riley “Buck” Trehern and by her four grandbabies that she never met here on Earth, but is rejoicing with in Heaven.

She is survived by her children, Michael Keith (Gina) Rowell, Kevin Douglas (Amy) Rowell, and Alison Denise (Jeremy) Skipper; grandchildren, Katelyn Ann Rowell, Clayton Becht Rowell, Martin Leo Rowell, Leo Thomas Skipper, Michael Douglas Skipper, and Isabelle Ann Skipper; special friends, Jimmy and Michelle Wells; along with other family members and friends.

The visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pascagoula, MS.  The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church beginning at 12 noon with Father Mike Kelleher officiating. Interment will be held at Machpelah Cemetery with James Barlow, Cearly Parker IV, Randy Roth, Becht Rowell, Martin Rowell, Leo Skipper, Michael Skipper, Lee Tingle and Jimmy Wells serving as pallbearers. All members of the Resurrection Eagles football teams will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Granny’s honor to Resurrection Catholic School 3704 Quinn Dr. Pascagoula, MS 39581.

Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, in Escatawpa/Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements.
