Harold Grey Hunnings, 72, of Moss Point, MS, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 8, 1944 in Morehead, NC to the late Oliver and Pearl Hunnings. Harold served his country as a U. S. Marine in Vietnam, and he was a captain for commercial fishing fleets for over 40 years.

Along with his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Hunnings; son, Douglas Hunnings; brothers, Clayton Hunnings and John Hunnings; nephew, David Hunnings; step-son, Donald Sexton; and grandson, George Ross Ketnor.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Hunnings; daughters, Samantha Kaye (Bill) Watts and Sherie (Mark) Tanner; step-children, Paul Dwayne (Barbara) Duckworth, Tena Duckworth Goellner, Allen (Kathleen) Ketnor, George Ketnor, Kathy (Kevin) Verrett, Larry (Donna) Dize, and Buddy Ketnor; sisters, Debra Hunnings Rhue and Letha LaCroix; brother, Wendell (Gail) Hunnings; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Three Rivers Assembly of God Church, 15910 Highway 63, Moss Point, MS, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gene Emswiler, Rev. Jerry Reed, and Rev. Keith Kirkwood officiating. Interment will follow at Three Rivers Assembly of God Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joel Tanner, Gibby Verrett, Larry Dize, Josh LaRue, Buddy Ketnor, and Chris Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Woody Diehl, Chunks Dixon, Allen Ketnor, Kevin Verrett, Gordon Hall, Jr, and Wendell Hunnings.

The family would like to give special thanks to Nurse Lisa Burroughs and Dr. Edgar Hull for the love and care shown to Harold in his final weeks.
