Thomas S. (Tommy) Smith, 80, of Wade, MS, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 in Moss Point. Tommy was born on October 9, 1936 in Wayne County, MS. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of the Caswell Springs United Methodist Church, and East Central Mason Lodge No. 631.  Tommy is former Justice Court Judge and Supervisor for District 1, Jackson County.

He is preceded in death by his father Ras Smith; mother Mary Rigney Smith, step-mother Valla Rae Smith, brothers, Jack Smith and Delton Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan Cumbest Smith; sons Gregory (Victoria) Smith of Mobile, AL; Alan (Ashley) Smith of Wade, MS; grandchildren, Julia (Luke) Sippel, Selena Smith, Erika (Daniel) Waide, Dustin (Krissi) Stanford, Jenna (Matt) Richardson, Amaya Smith; great-grandchildren, Harper Waide, Maddox Stanford, Charity Richardson; brothers William Ray Smith, W. E. (Barbara) Smith,   Vester Smith, Vince (Debbie) Smith; sisters Pauline Kittrell, Janice (Robert) Jordan; numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church.  Visitation beginning at 10:00AM with funeral at 11:00AM with Rev. Jim Fisher, Rev. Kevin Bradley, and Rev. H. W. Parker officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Smith’s nephews and honorary pallbearers will be the members of the East Central Mason Lodge No. 631. Masonic graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Caswell Springs UMC Building Fund, 18601 Hwy 63, Moss Point, MS 39562.
