Obituaries » Troy Simon Parker, Jr.

Troy Simon Parker, Jr. 67 of Mobile, AL, passed away Sunday Feb. 19, 2017. As a boy Troy developed a lifelong love of baseball playing little league in Pascagoula. By his teens, he traded in the glove for a guitar. Troy and his “brothers” Gary Bardwell, Charles Careno and Michael Jackson, became the crown prince’s of “The Alley” as The Fugitives.   The teens travelled and performed throughout the Southeast, Gulf Coast and as far north as CT and NY.  Later with his band Nicholas he continued to delight audiences in the Midwest as well as continuing throughout the Southeast and Gulf Coast.

Music being his first love, Troy had the mind of a businessman, owning numerous clubs in Pascagoula and Mobile; acting as a booking agent for fellow circuit bands; and finally opening Intellicom Wireless in the early days of cell phone technology. Intellicom grew to 7 stores along the Gulf Coast before selling the business and retiring in 2013.

He was a licensed private pilot, lifelong Ole Miss football fan, friend to all who knew him, devoted husband and brother, and proud father to the apple of his eye, daughter Hannah Marguerite.  Thanks to all the family and special friends who volunteered their time to help during his long illness and treatment.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents; Troy S. & Marguerite Parker, Sr. and infant brother Leon E. Parker.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sandra Parker of Mobile, AL, a daughter, Hannah Marguerite Parker of Tampa, FL, sisters; Sandra (Roy) Williams, Barbara Chappell, Debbie (Mike) Scott all of Pascagoula, MS, mother-in-law, Patricia Blackburn of Prescott, AZ, sister-in-laws; Cindy (Tony) Sciacca of Prescott, AZ, Pamela (Don) Erickson of Farmington, NM, Candy (Steve) Smith of Atlanta, GA, his beloved dog Chipper, numerous nieces, nephews, Family and close friends.

A special thanks to AEU for providing the support and allowing the time for his wife Sandra to help him on this final journey.
