William E. “Bill” Roberts, 69, of Wade, MS passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, with his devoted daughters by his side. His love of our Lord and Savior has secured his Heavenly home. Bill was born June 9, 1947, to the late Ralph E. Roberts, Sr. and Ada Eugenia Lyons Roberts of Escatawpa, MS. He was an Escatawpa native and graduated from Moss Point High School. Growing up close to the Escatawpa River, he loved to fish with his dad and carried that love with him for the rest of his life. He fished every free moment he had.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Harris; granddaughter, Jennifer Butler; infant son, Will Roberts; infant daughter, Janice Elaine Roberts; and his long-time best friend, Mr. Arthur Robertson.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Lana Roberts (Chris) Smith of Harleston, MS and Karen Roberts Brewer of Borger, TX; grandchildren, Zachary (Sydney) Smith of Little Rock, AR, Colby Smith of Oxford, MS, Caleb Brewer of TX, Paige McClure of Lucedale, MS, and Brent Grantham of OK; great-grandchildren, Taylor Butler and Wesley Kye Harvey; brother, Ralph Edwin Roberts, Jr.; sister, Eula Blackmon Pederson; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

He was employed by Brown and Root for most of his distinguished career. His professional accomplishments exceeded even his own expectations and led to the opportunity to help many others begin successful careers building power plants all over the world. After leaving Brown and Root, Bill then went to work for Signal Wind Energy where he helped oversee some of the country’s first wind energy farms. The last leg of his career was with Burns and McDonald of California where he continued his career in wind energy. Bill was a leader and very respected man in his career. He was proud to have made many lifelong friends along the way. Both daughters agree that their Daddy was the smartest, most respected, kindest, loving man they have ever known. This void in their lives is one that can never be filled.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point/Escatawpa, MS. Funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother L.C. Drawdy officiating. Interment will follow at Robinson Cemetery in Moss Point, MS.

Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Bryan Brewer, Zachary Smith, Colby Smith, Timmy Tribble, and Ricky Tribble. The family would like to thank Lyndi Barfield for the loving care she showed to Bill. The family would also like to thank Hospice of Light for their care during this most difficult time.
